A Review of BRANACAMPOUT.ORG Activity in 2011

With a new year just beginning, you might want to look at branacampout.org activity in 2011.

This Web site had 6,340 views last year, an average of 17 per day. The busiest day was July 14 with 165 page views. July, the month when the campout is held, was busy overall with 1,814 views, an average of 59 per day during July.

Of all the views, 95.2% were in the United States. The remainder were in Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Australia and Germany.

This Web site is intended to serve the fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous and to spread the word about the BRANA Campout. We look forward to 2012 and the opportunity to continue to be of service.

BRANA 31 Artwork

The theme and artwork for BRANA 31 are complete. Results are at left.

The BRANA Campout committee has contacted Natural Chimneys and we have reserved the entire campground for the weekend of July 20-22, 2012. We anticipate our costs to increase about 8 percent; however, registration fees for campers will remain the same – $30 in advance and $35 at the event. Online registration for BRANA 31 will begin in mid-January.

Look for BRANA 31 magnets at the 30th AVCNA in Virginia Beach, January 13-15, 2012.

See ya at BRANA the third weekend of July.

Cindy’s Journal BRANA 30 #12

Saturday Night Fire Dance at BRANA 30

Cindy G. of Staunton brought a journal to the campout in 2010 and passed it around for people to share their thoughts, feelings and ideas about the weekend. In 2011, the journal continued its journey among the campers.

Mike C., clean date 6/13/11…This is my first year at BRANA. I’ve really been looking forward to it and I will be enjoying the whole weekend. The fellowship is great. What a way to celebrate recovery. I’ve met so many cool people in recovery. I thank my higher power and the fellowship for keeping me clean. My road will be difficult but I will make it.

Ricardo C., Virginia Beach, VA…Enjoy the journey.

Pam Y…I am excited about being here. It is very peaceful. It’s a nice place for fellowship with friends. Plus, the food is yummy.

Vinnie L., Blue Ridge Area…I love the fact that the campground is transformed into a giant meeting! How about private bathrooms for each campsite?

Daniel G…I have had an amazing time here. The campgrounds are very clean and everyone is nice!

Millie…I’m happy to be here for the third year in a row.

Jerry V., Richmond, VA…I haven’t been here for many years; having a great time.

Letta H…This is my first BRANA Campout. I’m having a great time. Thanks for this experience in my recovery.

Chuck S., Blue Ridge Area, clean date 1/1/98…I usually don’t attend the BRANA Campout as my life has often taken me in other directions this time of the year. This year is different. In January my friend – our friend – Steve M. passed away. Also, I have finished working the 12 Steps for the first time in my recovery. As a result of these two things I have realized what the most important thing in my life is – my friends. I am here to celebrate my friends and I’m glad I came.

Saturday Night Dance at BRANA 30

Em S., Blue Ridge Area…I came here with one day clean. BRANA got me stoked for recovery. Thanks NA.

Colin B…BRANA is my favorite NA event. I look forward to it all year and am really happy to be here.

Mike G., Roanoke, VA…May you continue to be blessed with the miracles of recovery. BRANA 2011.

Jenny M., Richmond, VA…Fun times at BRANA!

Huates M…This was my first BRANA and it was amazing! So relaxing! I definitely will be back next year.

Max…I had a blast jumpin’ off stuff and didn’t shower all weekend. It was great.

Heather L., Virginia Beach, VA…Life is full of little miracles! Sometimes you just have to wait for the storm to pass. Live life to the fullest one day at a time and remain grateful every day.

Billy W. (clean date 4/15/11)…90+ days clean and this was just what I need. My sponsor tells me “Clean time does not equal recovery.” BRANA 30 showed me recovery.

Amanda V., New Dominion Area, VA…The BRANA Campout is the best campout of the year! I always have a great time. Only bad part is packing up and going home. Thanks for everyone who makes it possible. Much love.

Friday Night at BRANA 30

Campers gather for the Friday night speaker meeting at BRANA 30

Leah S., Virginia Beach, VA…I love BRANA. I look forward to this campout all year. I enjoy the bonds that are built through being outdoors and being in really close quarters. I love NA and I love BRANA. Thanks for all the hard work.

Jim B…The message of recovery is a life-saving message – not only for the newcomer but also for the addict still suffering. After many years of recovery, I find myself trying to find a new way to live. NA has saved and is saving my life daily – from misery, from addiction and mostly from death. Show up! The life you save could be your own. You definitely save mine.

Marvin J…Looked forward to BRANA. Great fellowship, campsite, weather, recovery, etc. Living life to its best one day at a time.

Sarah N…I had a lot of fun at BRANA 29 and 30. I’m trying to have a scavenger hunt on Saturday. I really enjoy camping at BRANA. See you next year.

Dora H…My first BRANA. Sweet.

Arnold D., Blue Ridge Area…Third BRANA in a row and the best one yet! Already planning for next year.

Saturday Morning Early Bird Meeting at BRANA 30

Tanya K…BRANA 30! First family campout for our young family. The weather has been perfect and fun has been had by all four of us. Awesome speakers and events. Thanks BRANA.

Floyd B., Freestate Region, Westside Area, Giving it Back Home Group…My first BRANA! Plan to make this a regular. We all owe it to NA to be its greeter. Welcome to NA. We will love you ’til you learn to love yourself and others.

Brent C…This was my first BRANA and it was great! I really loved the meetings and the speakers for the most part. I love the campground and the water. I will be back for years to come!

Whitney, Virginia Beach, VA…This is my sixth year at BRANA and it gets better and better every time. Thank you BRANA Area for your service!

Heather R…Although camping is not my thing, BRANA is starting to grow on me. This is our third year coming and we hope to make many many more. It seems no matter where I find a meeting in NA the only thing that different are the faces.

Jessica R…BRANA is above all the most amazing chance to connect with other addicts. I am in love with being a part of this fellowship. It is my way of life and one I will – with my HP’s help – never walk away from.
