Campout Journal

This year, as we have done in past years, we handed out a Journal to be passed among campers for them to record their experiences during the weekend and the Journal would be returned to a Campout Planning Committee member at the end of the event. This year’s Journal was not returned and we are wondering where it might be. If anyone out there has it or knows where it is, please reply to this post or contact us here.

Thanks!

“The Journal” BRANA 33 #4

Journal PicAt BRANA 29 (July 2010), a local NA member brought a journal and passed it around for people to write down their thoughts, feelings and experiences during the weekend.

The Journal returned at BRANA 30 in 2011, BRANA 31 in 2012, BRANA 32 in 2013 and again at BRANA 33 in 2014. The Journal continues to provide us with an inside look at the people who attend the BRANA Campout.

Ryan R, NDANA… Such a serene and peaceful event. “Never alone” is truly proving itself to be true. As I look around and meet people from all over who all share our common problem and who have found a solution, I am overcome with a great sense of hope and gratitude. Thanks BRANA.

Eric, Charlottesville, VA… This is a very nice place. Nice people and healthy fun. My first out-of-town NA event in 23 months clean. This program works and I’m so grateful today. The desire to use has been lifted and I no longer fear robots!

Drew L, Peninsula Area… BRANA 31 was my introduction to NA with less than 30 days clean. Now I’m back for the 3rd time, still chasing the high from the first BRANA. I love being clean!

Allie W, Gloucester, VA… I have 4 days clean and hope to have many, many more. This is also my first BRANA experience and I’ve had a blast!

George & Gina, Baltimore, MD…We so love BRANA. This is the highlight of the year for us. This year was special because my daughter, whom I brought to BRANA Campouts as a little girl, has joined our NA family and has 9 months clean Thank you NA! We love our BRANA family.

Rich B…I had 4 months clean at my first BRANA. Now, with more than 3 years clean, I’m at my 4th BRANA. This is the spiritual feast I wait for every year! Thank you BRANA.

Erin T, Lynchburg, VA…My first BRANA was July 2003. By the grace of God I have been clean ever since. I love BRANA Campout and just when I get overwhelmed with people, I realize we need each other. So grateful that this is a “we” program, not an “I” program.

Alicia C, Richmond, VA… My 2nd year here and I believe that BRANA 32 helped keep me clean till this year! It was the most life changing experience I’ve had in recovery! Change I must, or die I will.

Jessica H, Richmond, VA…Being here 3 days clean was unexpected, but God’s will and a blessing. I couldn’t ask for a better group to start my life with.

Brenda S, York, SC…My second year here. Definitely going to be a tradition for me! Thanks BRANA. Love this fellowship and love the Campout.

Kristine, Virginia Beach, VA… I am so grateful to be 4 months clean, spending quality time at BRANA with such amazing and beautiful people. I’ve had a life changing experience here and I thank all of you for showing me how to live again.

Hannah T, Peninsula Area, VA… First BRANA Campout. Recovery doesn’t get better than this!

Steve, Charlottesville, VA… This was the wettest BRANA I have ever been to. Still had fun.

Ashley C, Fredericksburg, VA…I can’t help but think about last year. I was sitting here with only months clean, just looking for the way out of my never-ending, running mind. Now I’m here one year later with freedom and so much more. Who would have thought? I love it! Keep coming back.

Dot G, Fredericksburg, VA…We do recover, we can change and we embrace this new way of life to the fullest.

Danielle K… I am proud to say I am a newcomer here at this event and at NA. I am 5 days clean and look forward to meeting you and learning all I can learn. There is so much freedom in surrendering to this disease.

Sheila, Farmville, VA…Second year at BRANA and 12 years of recovery. Years have passed and it keeps getting better.

Dan W., Harrisonburg VA…My first Campout was 1988-BRANA 7. I was 5 months clean at the time and unprepared for the outpouring of love that I experienced. Having fun without using drugs was too new for me to be ready to let go. It is amazing how the event has grown and how it has become part of my recovery.

Beverley C. … I feel that this year at BRANA is going to be very spiritual for me. I felt my Higher Power saying to me this morning to take it easy and enjoy. I’m excited to see what happens during the weekend. I have two sponsees that are here for their first time. It’s going to be a blast!

Brandon… My first year at BRANA and I’m loving it! See everyone next year.

Steve S., GSANA…The day has begun and I’m having fun. I came in 2010 and am here again in 2013. I love you, NA brothers and sisters. NA is my life and next time I hope to bring my wife. I am clean and I feel good!

George E., Central MA… Another great Campout, as always. Thanks BRANA.

Leah S., Virginia Beach…I love BRANA. I have a chance to just let loose and enjoy the present moment. Thanks for all the service it takes to put on an event of this magnitude. I love NA and this has always been my favorite event of the year.

AJ O…Last year was my first time here and I only had six months clean. At the Sunday Early Bird meeting I shared the pain I was going through and Jason B. gave me his BRANA 8-28-88 coffee mug and told me to bring it next year and to have the same clean date! So through this past year when I felt like using I would see the mug and I wouldn’t use. I didn’t use. I gave the mug back and just for today I am clean.

Amee T…This is my first time going camping and what an experience it has been. The fellowship was the best time of my trip. I was given an NA coffee mug to return next year (2013) and have the same clean date. Wow, what a trip.

Jason B., Blue Ridge Area…Hi Amee. Last year I gave this mug to AJ, hoping it would come back along with him and he’d have the same clean date. I want to see you back with or without the mug. If you forget it or something happens to it, don’t worry. Your continued recovery is what I would like most of all! Love ya. Keep coming back! I’ll see you next year and I’ll give you a mug to give away!
